BUILDING IN WOOD
  • Wooden town planning and wooden architecture guidelines are ready.
  • Even CO2-neutral planning and architecture are possible with our know-how.
  • We can do high-tec and bioclimatic architecture in Japanese climate.
  • Modern wood is economical and long lasting.
  • Target is to construct wooden building areas and large buildings, like schools and senior housing, in Japan.

  • WOODEN TOWN TRADITION
  • Traditional wooden towns in Finland were dense.
  • It was the functionalist style that broke urban structures, and caused the urban sprawl.

  • Welcome to Suomi Koti!

Suomi Koti (Finland Home) is a cluster of Finnish construction and building materials companies that have joined forces to plan, produce and market Finnish inspired wooden buildings to the Japanese market.

One primary target in Japan is to support the reconstruction efforts in Tohoku after the earthquake and tsunami disaster in March 2011. Therefore Suomi Koti will, at least in its first stages, operate from Sendai City. But plans include expanding the network to other parts of Japan as well.

    SUOMI-KOTI CONCEPTS

Different building types can be made with the Suomi-Koti partners:
  • Wooden houses and multi-storey housing.
  • Safe coastal construction.
  • Senior housing and nursing homes with the Finnish safety- and wellness-technique.
  • Wooden office buildings.
  • Schools and kindergarten.
